Andrew Hay, Director, LCF Edmond de Rothschild Securities
Joined LCF Rothschild in 1999, where he has advised on UK and European cross-border M&A transactions in a range of industries including financial services, healthcare and property. He was previously a corporate finance director at ING Barings and latterly head of the consumer goods M&A group. Prior to that he was responsible for deriving M&A business in North America and advised a range of U.S. corporations on acquisitions and disposals in the U.K. and Europe. Until 1993 he ran the North American capital markets team at Barings, advising on bond issues, syndicated loans and structured finance. Before joining Barings, he was with Schroders in London and New York. Andrew is a non-executive director of Aminex PLC, the London Stock Exchange listed oil and gas exploration and production company. He has an MA from Oxford University.
Edward Buchan, Managing Director, Corporate Finance
Joined LCF Rothschild in 2002. Previously he was an executive director and head of transportation industry group at WestLB Panmure (1999-2002), a managing director at Close Brothers Corporate Finance Limited (1996-99) and previously managing director, head of corporate finance and member of the bank executive committee of Hill Samuel Bank. He has worked on a large number of corporate finance transactions, including restructurings, privatisations, mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings. His clients have included a number of companies in the transport & logistics sector and he advised on the privatisation of several businesses in British Rail. Edward, formerly senior non-executive director of Tibbett & Britten Group plc (a leading international logistics group) and until recently a non-executive director of Isotron plc (a specialist medical equipment business), is the senior non-executive director of Wallem Group Limited, a leading Far East ship management and marine services company, and non-executive director of Downing Protected VCT I plc. He is a graduate in political science from the University of Southampton (1972), qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (1976) and attended the advanced management program at Harvard Business School (1996).
Quentin Boyd, Director, Corporate Finance
Joined LCF Edmond de Rothschild in 1990, where he has advised on a variety of UK and European cross-border transactions with a particular focus on the transport and auto services sectors, including: the mbi of the Port of Bristol, the mbo and subsequent listing of AutoLogic Holdings plc, and the acquisition of Renault’s global logistics business by the GAL consortium. He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and has an MA from Cambridge University.
William James, Director – Business Development, Corporate Finance
Joined LCF Edmond de Rothschild in 1998, where he has advised on a variety of financial services sector transactions, including the sale by Prudential Assurance of a mortgage portfolio to Cheshire Building Society, following a competitive auction. Previously he was a director of Hill Samuel Bank where he advised ING on the sale of the Life Association of Scotland mortgage portfolios to Birmingham Midshires, Halifax on the acquisition of BNP Mortgages and Britannia Building Society on the acquisition of the Lloyds Bowmaker mortgage portfolio. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Touche Ross and has an MA from Cambridge University.
William Douglas, Manager, Corporate Finance
Joined LCF Rothschild in 2007. He was previously at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he specialised in the valuation of companies, in particular in respect of corporate restructuring and employee share schemes for tax purposes. His valuations experience covers a broad range of industry sectors including business-to-business media, financial services, property, travel and leisure. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Middle Markets audit practice and is a graduate in Classics from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Channel Islands
Mark Thistlethwayte, Chief Executive, LCF Edmond de Rothschild (C.I.)
Mark is Chief Executive of the group in the Channel Islands. He started his career at James Capel & Co in 1986 and was responsible for building their equity derivatives team. Subsequently in 1990 he moved to Cazenove & Co as Head of Derivatives to set up and run a risk management department. He joined the LCF Rothschild Group in 1995 and established the Guernsey operation the following year. He concentrates on promoting, implementing and running asset risk management strategies for clients. Mark is a Director of the Channel Islands Stock Exchange and of several open and closed ended investment companies. He is a Fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute.
John Falla, Director, Corporate Finance
John started his career with Ernst & Whinney, London and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. After qualifying he moved to the Corporate Finance Department. After 12 years with Ernst & Young he returned to Guernsey and was a member of the team that set up the Channel Islands Stock Exchange. As Head of Listings, he was also a Member of the Market Authority of the Exchange. In 2000 he joined the LCF Rothschild Group as Corporate Finance Director responsible for the corporate finance activities including those of Sponsor on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange. He is a fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute, having completed the Diploma in 2004. Graduating in Property Valuation and Management from The City University London, John has retained an interest in the property sector and has completed the professional examinations of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
